Mainline Nation has plans this weekend, do you?

Mainline Nation will be on site for this years X Games and we’ve got the lowdown on the three venues to be turned upside down for high octane tricks.

We start at the LA Memorial Colesium; home of the USC Trojans. No other building has ever host two Olympics, two Superbowls and a World Series. Well, this weekend it can add an X Games to its resume.

Events featured at the Colesium include Moto X Freestyle and the debut of RallyCar Super Rally.

Just across the street – The Staples Center will play host to fan favorites such as Moto X Best Trick and Best Whip. Moto X Speed & Style will also make a return.

Perhaps the coolest venue of this years competition – the Nokia Theater will serve as a backdrop for Skateboard Vert Best Trick and BMX Freestyle Vert. The stage has been transformed into a platform for ALL Vert competitions.

And that’s not all. The X Games will lay waste to the streets surrounding each venue for Street and Park competitions.

The story lines for X Games 16 are endless.

Will Australian motocross pioneer, Cam Sinclair find redemption after a horrifying crash landed him in a coma last year? His remarkable recovery and return to the game will culminate at his first X Games Friday.

This year – he plans to attempt the same double backflip – with no hands.

A definite fan favorite, our poster-boy Olympic trickster, Shaun White leaves the snow for the street and will compete for the Vert and Vert Best Trick medals – doubling his chance at gold which has eluded him since 2007.

He’ll have to go through Pierre Luc Gagnon who has told ESPN he plans to land a nollie heelflip big spin 540 – something that if landed could be tough to beat. 1080, Shaun?

ESPN will cover it all. They’ve gone from 20 to 31 hrs of live coverage on all their channels – including, 8 hrs of Live coverage in 3D on ESPN 3D. 24/7 coverage can be found online.

Promoters remind spectators to leave their backpacks and beach bags in the car. There will also be NO TAILGATING among other restrictions – perhaps the only buzz-kill on a weekend filled with events that are sure to keep the crowds happy.
