Nike “Human Chain” featuring Mainline Nation & Jay White

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Nike’s short film, Human Chain, a project two years in the making, is finally complete. This is only the third commercial by Nike to feature the fastest growing sport in the world, MMA, and Mainline Nation was lucky enough to be there. In the scene with Jay White and Rampage Jackson, you’ll notice the Mainline Nation star and logo prominently featured on Jay White’s fight shorts.

The 60-second film launches February 12th in the United States and features Oscar Pistorius, Sergio Aguero, Deron Williams, Maria Sharapova, Mike Spinner, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, LaDainian Tomlinson and Lance Armstrong alongside many other athletes as they all connect in one continuous chain of motion.

The athletes used in this spot were chosen because they represent a wide variety of sports and athletes at all levels. It is a message that harkens back to Nike’s “Just Do It” mantra and our mission to inspire and motivate all athletes to great performances 24/7, 365 days a year.

“Everybody gets knocked down, how quick are you going to get up?”

one of the best movie quotes…from Knockaround Guys

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Storeowner: I got nothing for you my friend.
Taylor: I checked the meter on my machines. Now they’ve had plenty of play. I gave you that key so you could borrow a little, float yourself for a few days. But half of that money is mine, and I want it.
Storeowner: What can I tell you, Taylor? I run a business here. I have expenses. If I’m not paying fast enough for you, turn ‘em off. Take them out of the store.
Storeowner: [Taylor leaves and comes back with a crowbar] What the fuck are you doing? Are you crazy? They’re your own f*cking machines! Don’t do this to me, por favor.
[Taylor smashes the arcade game with the crow bar and pulls the storeowner over the counter]
Taylor: The milk guy’s getting paid… the potato chip guy’s getting paid… the beer guy’s getting paid… every-f*cking-body’s getting paid, and you look through me? You f*ck!
Storeowner: I got it, I got it. It’s right here.

THE URBAN NINJA, XIN SARITH WUKU

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Xin is the man known to us all as the famous Urban Ninja. His demo video has accumulated over 21 million views and remains as one of the most viewed videos in YouTube history (number 66 to be exact).

After a short career in street fighting and underground cage fighting, Xin, knowing he was destined for greatness, founded and developed “Evolved Monkey Combat”, the company behind the “Urban Ninja” film.

EMC was created in 2001 for the sole purpose of entertaining the masses through martial artistry. Breaking away from the traditional punch/kick demos of yesterday, Evolved Monkey Combat emphasizes live action combat. With the perfect mix of fantasy choreography, bone breaking stunts, comedic scenarios and total disregard for their own safety, they had found the formula for success!! Borrowing from the theory that man evolved from apes, Xin believed he and his brothers descended from monkeys instead. Nimble, mischievous and fun loving, they were a new breed of martial artist, all of the old school mojo…with a splash of new school attitude.

In 2004, EMC swept across college campuses, festivals, and parades gaining notoriety but still only within the boundaries of southern California. It wasn’t until the mega hit video “Urban Ninja” hit the internet did EMC begin to gain worldwide attention. Then it was hit after hit with “Rooftop Duel”, Monkey Magic”, “the Phone Call”. It seemed the fans just couldn’t get enough of EMC. Fan mail would pour in from all over the world. The U.S., Germany, England, Australia, South East Asia and more. Like a virus, EMC had quickly spread and infected millions of people. And the way things are going for them, it seems there will be millions more to come.

His website ends with a note that we felt compelled to share with you, a humble note of inspiration and dedication. “Now you know pieces of my story. A kid who came from nothing. A kid who had a dream. A kid who gave it all but never gave up. Go be that kid. And maybe one day, I will read your story.”

Check out his demo video here on YouTube and his official website at OriginalXin.com.

LFC 25 “Breaking Point” – Double Knockout Video

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Soon after the thunder of practice laps for the Indy 500 subsided Friday night at the nearby Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the thunder of LFC 25 “Breaking Point” arose at 8 Seconds Saloon on Indianapolis’s westside. This is the first LFC event following a full-scale crowd riot that broke out at the last event in March. Extra security was on hand tonight and, although the fights once again brought down the house, this time it was for all the right reasons. There were several outstanding fights including what was, quite simply, the most showstopping finish I have ever personally witnessed and easily a lead candidate for fight of the year in central Indiana.

Shaun Parker (3-6) vs. Tyler Bryan (1-0)
Easily the most showstopping fight of the year in central Indiana, and the best finish I have ever personally witnessed. I never even got an official time on this one because of how quickly and startlingly it ended, and the pandemonium that ensued afterwards. Shonie Carter picked the right night to be guest referee. Within the opening seconds of the fight, both fighters landed simultaneous devastating shots that immediately laid them both out unconscious and producing this exceptionally rare fight result: Draw due to double KO. Trust me, you will want to see this video.
